Bearing Advisors Partners with Attentive

Bearing Advisors is pleased to announce a new partnership with Attentive, a Preventative Care Management Company, to bring important wellness programs that focus on preventative care as a way to promote a healthier nation.
With health care costs consuming ever-increasing amounts of employer’s budgets and chronic health problems resulting in lost productivity for both employees and employers, there has been an urgent call to action by the federal government to invest in strategies to improve our nation’s health and well-being. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Healthy People 2030 initiative is designed to guide national health promotion and disease prevention.
Through Healthy People 2030, experts collaborate to develop program objectives that are used by all levels of government and private organizations to target, mitigate, and prevent health problems and monitor their success in promoting health and wellness.
“The Healthy People 2030 call to action provides a foundation through which Bearing Advisors can bring its considerable expertise working with private sector organizations to bring innovative solutions to local government,” said Philip E. Riley, Jr., Managing Director. “We believe the Attentive Preventative Care Management Program will further align the interests of the employee with those of the employer: providing better health benefits and reducing costs.”
Bearing Advisors will be working with Attentive to make the Attentive Preventative Care Management Program available to local government employees. The Program is a Self-Insured Medical Reimbursement Plan (SIMRP) that focuses on the benefits of a group preventative care management plan with an employer-sponsored medical plan. As an added feature, voluntary insurance products such as a life, accident, and disability as well as other similar products will be offered by Combined Insurance Company of America, a Chubb company. Combining these plans can generate tax savings for both the participating employer and employee; those tax savings can offset or eliminate the costs to participate for the employee and generate a net tax savings for the employer.
“Our program is a health plan-related, participation-only Plan, meaning all employees have to do is participate—not achieve a particular health goal. It is designed to promote healthier lifestyle choices among employees and their family members,” said Attentive’s president, Josh Kirkland. “The data show that healthy people are at lower risk for disease. But more than that, healthy people are happier, more productive people.”
